metal, soft glass, recycled glass

This sculptural work blends industrial and organic elements to evoke a quiet yet powerful message of resilience. A ready-made brass faucet serves as the foundation, from which intricate, flame-worked glass foliage emerges—leaves, blossoms, and droplets, appearing to grow impossibly from the metal spout.

Crafted during a workshop led by glass artist Amber Cowan, the piece explores the symbolism of life flourishing in unexpected places. The juxtaposition of cold, rigid metal with delicate, flowing glass evokes themes of hope, regeneration, and nature’s persistence in reclaiming space. The piece invites viewers to consider how life can root itself in the overlooked and unlikely, offering a glimpse of beauty and vitality in even the most industrial corners of the world.
